Making
light of the Governments desire to see more recycling of materials
being undertaken, we moved into road recycling in 1998 and
this has added an important string to our bow. As well as
providing resources to other road contractors, we are recycling
more than 100,000 tones of our own materials each year at
our £500,000 plant at the Port of Tyne.
The Company operates an Environmental Policy, as can be seen
by the Policy Statement .
As the Company also operates a Cold Milling Business, all
planed material is taken from site and recycled, either as
Type 2 Sub Base or as the main ingredient in "Foam Mix"
material. All overbreak from reinstatement works, are taken
to our depot at Tyne Dock, for crushing or recycling.
It is also possible, for the Company, to negotiate the removal
of all glass from within your area, with a view to crushing
and recycling the same, as an ingredient for "Glassphalt".
Details of which are available on request.
It can therefore be seen that virtually little, or no waste
remains from our operations, that have to go to a landfill
site. It is also possible, therefore, to suggest that all
the above materials, removed from within your area, could
be returned in the form of a base material for use on low
stress areas.
FOOTNOTE: Further details on the above products, or rates
for same, can be obtained by contacting ourselves, at the
above address.
