Environmental Management Policy

New County Road Surfacing Limited is in the business of surfacing and repairing roads. The company is made up of individuals, all of whom want a clean environment for themselves and their families. Conducting our business successfully without causing damage to the environment is therefore a personal issue for all of us as well as being the policy for the company.

We are not complacent about our present environmental performance. We are always looking for improved ways of working to reduce the impact we have on the environment.

Our objectives are:

Waste:
	In common with most human activities, we produce unwanted waste as a result of doing the work, which is our livelihood. It is our policy to:

• find ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce
  
• try to recycle our waste into useful products
  
• ensure that harmful substances are not discharged to air, land or water
  
• use the best practicable technology (not entailing excessive cost) to deal with waste
  
• make sure we dispose of our waste responsibly and comply with legislation

Energy:
	It is our policy to:

• keep our consumption of energy to the minimum by ensuring we run efficiently
  
• monitor our energy consumption and set targets to reduce it

Targets:

We intend to set annual targets, which will help us to carry out this policy and meet each of these objectives. These targets are set by the Management Meeting and will be published to employees. The management meeting audits the performance of the Company against these targets and reviews the progress we are making towards achieving a cleaner and better environment.
